My mouth is still watering! Just read this again and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. We always try to seek out the local cuisine when travelling. Food is so much a part of the local culture and the whole travelling experience. Like you, I do not want to just settle for a Big Mac and Starbucks. Where’s the fun in that?

I’m pretty sure I’d enjoy this meal. That tortilla-like thingy looks really amazing, almost like a super-thin crepe. Slow-cooked meats are nearly always to my liking and like you I’d probably leave a fair bit of rice on my plate not to overdo it with carbs tehe… National dishes are fascinating and who could argue against a dish that brings peace. 🙂

One thing about arabic dish is that the portions are big and the desserts are saccharine..almost reflecting the landscape’s big aspirations for the future made by sweet natured-people

Business trip s can be grueling and made worse by the “gastro- correct” catering. Glad you got a chnace to sample real Jordanian food and saved room for dessert!
