Crossing the Street in Vienna

These are the street crossing devices that I have come across in Vienna.ย  They vastly differ in shape and size.ย  And honestly, I am not entirely sure if you need to press anywhere most of the time.ย  Some have a very obvious “button” but most do not.ย  So yes, I am that tourist that just randomly pushes somewhere on the device, hoping that it has acknowledged my wish to cross the street.ย  Also, word around town is that there is a 150 EUR fine for jaywalking, so cross only as directed!

And when you do cross the street, some of the crossing lights are super adorable.
